Last Saturday, Nothing More brought the heat to the Southside Ballroom in Dallas. Bringing in a mix of new sounds and old favorites, the night kicked off with a local opener, Post Profit. A Texas native band from Longview, Post Profit hit the ground running with their intoxicating brand of powerful, upbeat songs. Matt Jackson didn’t just get the crowd hyped with his powerful vocals and guitar playing; he did one better and jumped into the audience and crowd surfed back to the stage, after taking a selfie with some lucky fans at the barricade.

From Ashes to New took the stage next. The popular metal-meets-rap band performed a majority of music from their most recent album, “Blackout”, from 2023. Popular releases, including Barely Breathing and Monster in Me had the crowd singing along with Matt and Danny, with the truly dedicated taking on both the melody and rap parts. Antics from the rest of the band, including Lance switching out his iconic masks throughout the set, amped up the crowd for Set it Off.

An explosive entrance with Parasite introduced Set It Off to the Ballroom. Between the head-banging melody and catchy chorus, the audience couldn’t help but dance along to the energy radiating off the stage. The lights, music, and energy Cody Carson gave off as he jumped around the stage were electrified by the voices screaming along with him throughout the night. Maxx Danziger took over near the end of the set, showing off his talent beyond the drum set as he sang to the crowd.

The night concluded with Nothing More, headlining the Carnal Tour for 2024. Donning black and gold body paint and trendy skinny jeans, Johnny Hawkins danced around the stage parading his insane vocal talent through an impressive sixteen-song set. Starting with House of Sand and ending with This is the Time (Ballast), Nothing More took songs from each of their albums, including Carnal, The Stories We Tell Ourselves, Nothing More, and Spirits. Mid set, Hawkings showed off his drumming talent, having been the previous drummer for Nothing More, by bringing not only himself but a few drums into the first few rows of the audience. Fans held up the singer and his equipment for the solo as he banged away, throwing the drumsticks to awaiting fans and finishing the solo with his bare hands, closing out the night with an epic finish.
