A Brutal Commentary on Chaos and Complexity
Album Review: Everyone’s A Murderer by To The Grave

Aussie Deathcore rockers, To The Grave, have been carving out their niche in the scene since their formation in 2010 and debut album in 2014. Championing themes of animal rights and veganism, their latest album, Everyone’s a Murderer, available worldwide on August 30, 2024, focuses heavily on themes of war and militarism.
Highlights from the album are the tracks “Set Yourself On Fire (In Public)” and “Gaschamber P.T.”. “Set Yourself” stands out with clever chord changes, paying homage to the industrial genre and guaranteeing an explosive mosh pit with its grating beat. “Gaschamber P.T.”’s wicked instrumentals invoke an aural dreamscape, reminiscent of Type O Negative and “Wolverine Blues” by Entombed, with the use of old speeches and surrounding side effects.
Beyond those tracks, over processed vocals and awkward time signature changes lead to an overshadowing of the album’s overall message. Breakdown shifts that usually lead to enhanced movement in a song end up feeling jarring and awkward. The album would have benefitted from a higher level of refinement and synchronicity to allow the listener to fully engage with the underlying meaning.
To The Grave hit the road with Oceana from September 5-October 4, before joining the Faces of Death Tour in Europe from October 24-November 24. In 2025, they’ll be touring alongside Lorna Shore.
